Journal Entry - Sept 11th: Contest Begin!!!!!!

Hello all members of Dragon Traditional Art!!!!! How are you doing so far this week??
As usual, before announcing any further news, I’ll stand in behalf of our group and present our warmest welcome to our group’s newest members!!! Let’s put them under the spotlight!!!

As I’ve promised, the contest will be started NOW!!! As said, this contest will be a very challenging one! And, now’s the moment of truth: The subject of our next contest is:
“EASE YOUR SOUL”
Sounds challenging enough??
Okay, now everyone has known about the contest’s theme. But before participating, please read the contest’s rules thoroughly to avoid any misconception or mistakes!

Contest’s Rules
General rules
You must be a member of Dragon Traditional Art to participate in our contest!
This contest’s theme is “Ease your soul”, and your deviation must follow this theme. Your drawing can be about anything, but must follow those words. Thus, creativity is what decides victory in this contest!!
Your drawing’s main character(s) must be dragon(s).
As our group is “Dragon Traditional Art”, your drawing for our contest must be traditional. However, simple digital editions like cropping, increasing contrast, or grayscale, are accepted. I’ll tell you if your deviation is accidentally over-edited
The drawing you made for our contest must be a new and completed drawing (with complete background). You can only submit one deviation for the contest, and it must be submitted into our “Current Contest – Ease Your Soul” folder
The contest’s deadline is December 11^th 2013, so you guys have 3 months to complete your drawings!!!
In addition, you must also follow all of the other rules below.
Registration
As usual, before doing anything in a contest in Dragon Traditional Art, you must register. How to register? Simply comment under this journal as “I want to participate” or such , and when I read the comment, I will confirm your registration, then add you to our group’s “Participant List” (which can be found via a link written at the end of this journal, or right under this journal in the group’s journal list), and give you a number, called <CID>. I’ll tell you about how to use that number in later rules, so please remember to check your number after registering
I’ll receive registration until November 11^th 2013, thus you have 2 months to register
Submission
As I’ve said, only one submission per participant; Submitting into “Current Contest – Ease Your Soul” folder.
When you submit your drawing onto DeviantART, please write your name and description following this structure:
- In the name section: <Your CID>. {Drawing’s name}
- In the Description section:
This is an entry to the contest on group . Theme: Ease Your Soul.
{Descriptions about the drawing. You can even write something to amplify the feeling of your drawing. Something like a background story, or even a poem, is highly appreciated.}
{Some words about how you made this drawing}
{Other things, optional}
Your submission will only be accepted to enter our contest if you follow the structure above. I will tell you if you do anything wrong with your description So don’t worry at all.
Judging
Apart from two usual judges, me and , in this contest there will be a 3^rd judge, who is also one of the winners of the previous contest: !!
And as usual, contest entries will be rated using 4 aspects:
- Vision: “Ease your soul”. That’s the theme. That must be what you draw about. The more your deviation follow that theme, the higher score you will achieve in this part. _{Hint: You should not use strong colors such as dark purple, crimson, etc. as your main colors because they are against the words of “ease your soul”.}
- Skills/techniques: Scoring based on your skills, of course. Not only coloring skills, lining skills, but also position skill, designing skill and building an appropriate atmosphere for your drawing.
- Creativity: This is probably the most important aspect. As the theme is “Ease your soul”, very open, so you should – if not MUST – use every “creative” neuron of your brain to create a satisfying drawing. Of course, with such open and difficult theme, inspiration may found hard to come, that’s why I left the deadline 3 months from now . Please note that background stories or other creative resources can give bonus points to this part.
- Impact: This part is scored according to the very first feeling I have in my first glance on your drawing. So please cause a godlike “Impact”, but still following the words “Ease Your Soul”
Each aspect will be scored out of 10, so 40 points total for each deviation. As soon as our contest is closed for judging, we’ll try our best to judge your works fairly and quickly !!

As usual, our prizes contain 2 main parts: rewards and free art-commissions.

And now, I’ll list the normal prizes:

- 2^nd place: 100 , being featured in the next 4 journals in our group
- 3^rd place: 80 , being featured in the next 3 journals in our group
In addition, contest winners will also choose one of our art-commission donators and ask them to do their duties as donators! Besides, one winner will also have chance to be a judge in the next contest!!!
Oh and of course entries of winners will be added to our honorable "Featured" folder!
This amount of prizes is also not the final number. If we receive more donation in the time of our contest, the prizes will be updated!! And please note that donations will not affect the result of our contest AT ALL So feel free to be one of our sponsors
